Sims Law Firm's Use of Technology
Naperville Lawyer Leveraging Technologies in Law

Since entering private practice, Bryan has believed that technology can be leveraged to benefit both the attorney and the client in the legal process.

As a consequence, Bryan uses technology to the fullest extent possible. This not only makes it possible for him to better represent his clients, but it also allows him to more easily represent clients located far from Illinois. For example, in the past Bryan has represented clients located in Hawaii, Texas, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Amsterdam.

These representations were possible because of Bryan's ability to use technology to communicate with and exchange documents with clients located hundreds or even thousands of miles away. This also means that many transactions can occur without a client having to travel to his office.

Bryan's interest in technology has lead to him writing a blog on legal technology called The Connected Lawyer and being named TechnoLawyer's TechnoLawyer of the Year.

Additionally, Bryan has served on the Illinois State Bar Association's Committee on Legal Technology for many years, including serving as the chair and the newsletter editor. Further, he has published articles on legal technology issues in publications such as the ABA's GP|Solo Magazine, the ISBA Illinois Lawyer Now Quarterly, and Chicago Lawyer.

Also Bryan has been quoted as a legal technologist in publications such as the ISBA Bar Journal, Lawyer's USA, and Daily Herald Business Ledger.

Bryan has spoken on legal technology issues at the ISBA Solo and Small Firm Conferences, at ABA Techshow, at the Wisconsin Solo and Small Firm Conference, for the DuPage County Bar Association, the Kane County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the International Technology Law Association, and the Lake County (Indiana) Bar Association.
